November 11th, 2009 — budgeting, our wedding, planning, venues

Well, you know by now that my Glugs and I visited a lot of venues… fourteen to be exact. This is a lot more than the average couple does I can assure you! Some of you have asked about how Glugs and I were scoring and ranking them, so I thought I’d show you.
I’ve attached a picture of a portion of the ranking sheet I made up, and you can find a blog post about most of the venues with pictures I took when we were visiting them.
Some of them we visited by making appointments, and some we dropped in literally because we drove past it and had the time.
Many of them impressed me mightily, but some disappointed me dreadfully.
Many didn’t even get back to me when I emailed them asking about a viewing!
November 10th, 2009 — invitations, our wedding, planning, wedding reception
Actually, I have a few…
Here’s the first one. Wedding etiquette dictates that if you receive a wedding invitation, its a good idea to send a gift to the couple even if you do not attend the wedding.
I know a lot of etiquette “rules” have fallen away, or get ignored because times change- but I would like to invite several people who I know most likely can’t make it to the wedding. I want to invite them because I would love to have them there… but I don’t want them to think I’m hinting for a gift even though I know they most likely won’t be able to be there.
I could blog about it, but not everyone reads my blog.
And the other one is this.
I have several single friends, and I would like to invite them to the wedding but since they’re not seeing anyone I want to leave off the “plus one” option.
For the most part, only putting one person’s name on the ivitation implies that only they are invited- but does everyone know that? And would they consider it rude if I don’t give them the option to bring someone with them?
November 4th, 2009 — ideas, music, our wedding, planning
Sooooo… I’ve been thinking.
I figured that since we “only” need about 100 songs to more than cover the duration of our wedding reception, I’m going to try and compile a playlist.
And this is where you come in.
This is a list of about 60 performers and a few songs that I have already thought of, and I’m going to be adding to it slowly- what I would like is suggestions from y’all as to what else to add! And you don’t have to stick to the artists on this list as I may very possibly have left some out.
Leave your list in the comments on this post!
